Usk Valley Ospreys has been working closely with Welsh Government (the landowner), the farmer and Wildlife Windows to set-up and manage the video monitoring system and we are delighted to now be able to publish the live feed from the Nestcam. We plan to publish the live feed for the whole of the 2025 nesting season and it would help us tremendously if you could show your support by joining us and considering a donation.

NestCam off-line or not much happening? Have a look below at just a few of the highlights from 2024

12 April 2024 - Osprey 496, a 3 year old from Clywedog arrives early in the season and engages in some nest building. Ultimately though, it won’t be him that gets to use the nest this year.

26 April 2024 - The unringed ‘resident’ male bringing in sticks to build up the nest.

1st May 2024 - The resident male brings a May Day present to the demanding and vocal resident female.

1st May 2024 - The resident pair mating in early May. Unfortunately, probably because the female arrived late in the season there were no chicks for this year.

26 June 2024 - Towards the end of June, Blue 441, a 2 year old from Kielder in Northumberland decides to move in. She was just one of several intruders through the season, all of whom the resident pair dissuaded from staying.
