Osprey Nest News

We are pleased to report that since the end of March there has been some activity at the nest with a couple of osprey calling in before moving on to other sites. One of those (496), a 3 year old male has recently started to refurbish the nest but he is not thought to be one of the pair that constructed the nest last year. The return of the original pair is still awaited and it will be interesting to see what happens if they return and find their nest occupied. We will keep you posted.

Here are some images taken by Peter Seaman on 12th April.

Please be aware that although the nest tree can be seen from the canal tow path near Cross Oak, it’s a long way away and you won’t see anything without binoculars. Information on protecting the birds can be found on this site on the View the Birds page.
